After the parade a small ceremony was held. Wreaths were presented at the Freeport Memorial Library by two South Korean
Air Force officers. Lt. Col. Bessel of the United States Air Force presented Commander Stephen Nicolino of the American Legion
with a US flag that he personally flew over Iraq in January of 2006. The names of all Long Islander killed in the line of
duty in the middle east were read off, a bell was tolled for each.
