Major Moore hails from Northbrook, Illinois; he graduated from Glenbrook North High School in 1975. On 22 April 1976, he
enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve at the Armed Forces Entrance Examination Station (AFEES) now known as the Military Entrance
Processing Station (MEPS), Chicago, Illinois. On 28 August of that year, he graduated from Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San
Diego, California as a meritorious Private First Class. Major Moore spent his junior year in college at Trinity College, Carmarthen,
Wales, Great Britain where his studied Outdoor Pursuits and toured the Soviet Union. In 1979 Major Moore graduated with a
Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Winona State University, Winona, Minnesota. He was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant
in the Marine Corps Reserve in August 1979 with primary duties as a Motor Transport and Logistics Officer. During Major Moore's
20-years of active duty, he served 8 years in Okinawa, Japan, as well as, 7 years on recruiting duty with his last four years
at 1st Marine Corps District, Garden City, New York. He has also been stationed at Marine Corps Recruiting Station,
Denver, Colorado; Marine Corps Schools, Quantico, Virginia, and Camp Lejeune, NC. Upon his retirement, he became the Marine
Instructor at Tottenville High School in Staten Island, NY. In 2000, as a Senior Marine Instructor, he opened the Marine Corps
JROTC Unit at Hempstead High School, Hempstead, NY. In 2003, he assumed his present duties as the Senior Naval Science Instructor,
Navy JROTC Unit at Freeport High School, Freeport, NY. Major Moore is married to the former Andrea Sklarin of Valley Stream,
NY. They live in Valley Stream, have five children and three dogs. Enter content here
